Medical Training Session
On Sunday we held our first intensive medical training session for new members. Although candidates receive a good deal of medical training during Candidate Term, once Member Training starts we really ramp it up.
B-12 expects each member to be able to perform to a certain level of skill during a medical emergency, whether it happens at a B-12 event or in their own daily lives. Medical training also focuses on planning operations in such a way as to prevent injuries or illnesses from occurring in the first place.
This particular session covered trauma assessment and the basic procedures of summoning assistance in various emergency situations, and was led by instructors with emergency medical experience. The new members also became more familiar with B-12’s medical equipment and instructional materials, and were put into the role of scenario evaluator to prepare them to be instructors themselves in the future.
